A state-owned national shipyard, operating since 1977 in Makassar and Bitung.
PT Industri Kapal Indonesia (Persero), better known as IKI Shipyard, is a state-owned enterprise (BUMN) engaged in shipbuilding and ship repair. The majority of its shares are held by the Government of Indonesia through Danantara Asset Management, one of the entities under the Daya Anagata Investasi Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara). The company's journey began in 1963 through the Makassar Shipyard Project. Later, on October 29, 1977, PT IKI was officially established as a company and continued to grow into the largest shipyard in Eastern Indonesia. Today, IKI operates two units, in Makassar and Bitung, along with a representative office in Jakarta. As a strategic shipyard, PT IKI plays a role in supporting maritime activities, particularly in Eastern Indonesia. Through this strategic role, PT IKI remains committed to strengthening the independence of the national shipbuilding industry, reinforcing Indonesia's maritime resilience, and delivering innovative solutions for maritime-based economic development.
